Suicide Bereavement Support: WAVES Programme

Suicide is a whole of society issue. The death of a loved one to suicide is life-altering and traumatic for those left behind. Bereavement support is a crucial element in reducing trauma and suicide risk for those bereaved by suicide.

Yellow Brick Road runs WAVES, an 8 week free of charge, practical and supportive grief education programme for those affected by suicide.  The Care Foundation supported the work of Yellow Brick Road by funding the delivery of the WAVES programme in Nelson and Marlborough. The programme is delivered by skilled facilitators in small groups providing healing support and promoting a healthier grief process.
